Temecula, CA

THE ENVELOPE

Company Premiere

Choreography: David Parsons

Music: Gioacchino Rossini

New to the 2008 repertoire is David Parsons’ hilarious signature work which pits seven dancers against a persistent piece of stationery. Don't miss this hallmark of contemporary ballet, described as “ingenious” by Anna Kisselgoff of the New York Times.

DARK ELEGIES

Choreography: Antony Tudor

Music: Gustav Mahler

Tudor’s masterful use of emotionally motivated movement, set to beautiful songs by Gustav Mahler, tells a story of grief and loss in a small community.  The Company is pleased to present this ballet in celebration of the centennial of Tudor’s birth.

PARTLY CLOUDY SUITE

Music: Marsha Groethe

In Partly Cloudy Suite, former Paul Taylor dancer Patrick Corbin blends electronic music, post-modern and classical dance techniques to create a dramatic, powerful contemporary ballet.

RHAPSODY IN BLUE

Alexandre Proia’s playful, flirtatious ballet for four dancers, inspired by one of George Gershwin’s most famous classical-jazz compositions, returns for a second season after delighting audiences in 2007.

HUSH

Charles Anderson’s graceful exploration of movement quality, choreographed to the sublime music of Bobbi McFerrin and Yo-Yo Ma, rides the edge between modern dance and ballet.
